A bicycle comes out of nowhere on a dark highway and hits Robert’s Chevy Camaro causing significant damage. Robert shares the story with his friend, Justin Candau, a catastrophic claims adjuster. The two go back and forth about how and why cars get totaled, keeping a car after it’s been totaled and whether the accident should have been a comprehensive or collision claim.

A Youtube video featuring Steve the Guardrail Guy inspires Robert to share a story of falling asleep while driving home after a Metallica concert on January 31, 1993. He hit several guardrails and caused damage to all four sides of a 1986 Mercury Cougar.
